Orlando's International Drive is an area filled with a
diverse tourism base where newer meets older, and where lodging
choices will range from the traditional to the superior first class.
In most cases, you'll find the newer portions of the areas lodging
segment located south of Sand Lake Rd, though there will be some
exceptions to this.
And what about shopping? You're definitely in the right
place! Here the old adage 'shop till you drop' will most certainly
apply. There are 'Mini-Malls,' 'Plazas,' Shopping Villages' and
Factory Outlets, ' all of which are part of the experience here.
But there's so much to cover and we have to start
somewhere, so let's start with Map# 1,
which will cover the vast concentration of Factory Outlets that this
area of International Drive is famous for. One of the most
recognized names in this area is without the doubt the Belz Factory
Outlet Mall, which is where North International Drive will begin
it's trek as it makes it's way south towards Universal Studios, Wet
N' Wild, Sea World and the Walt Disney World area.
This section is also where you'll find the beginning of some of the
traditional hotels in the area, but like any area, there may a few
surprises here and the 'landmark' tower of the Sheraton Hotel will
certainly be among these.
Map# 2 will begin at
Universal Blvd, the main route into
Universal Studios.
It is also in this area that Universal Blvd. will begin its parallel
course along the entire length of Maps #2 and Maps #3 as it hugs the
sometime congested thoroughfares of International Drive. Located
only a half block to the east, it's a great alternative if you're
going to Universal Studios, Wet N' Wild or Sea World...
For those staying on Canada Ave, this short section of
road will begin at Carrier Drive in the middle of Map
#2 and then ends at Sand Lake Road. Here you'll find Canada Ave.
nestled in between both International Drive and Universal Blvd, just
a 'stone's throw' off of International Drive...
Map# 3 begins its
journey at Sand Lake Road and International Drive and will take you
into the newer lodging sectors of International Drive via Map #3,
Map #4 Map #5 and Map#6. This is also where most of the area's
suites and resorts will be found.
For those looking for a US Post Office, Maps
#3 & Maps 4 will give you a little more direction on this
via Sand Lake Rd or Central Florida Parkway, which will then take
you to the US Post Office on Turkey Lake Road...
